2007 USBC National Meeting Nashville, TN (Day 4)
Sunday, April 1, 2007, 02:25 PM MST [General]
Too add a bit to day 3 I did get some info out of it and they announced that there will be a small Womans tour which was probably one of the best things I heard from the Meeting. Look to Bowl.com and the Pba.com websites for all he info on the womans tour info.
Day 4 was an intense day.....why you ask can a bowling meeting be intense? Well Ill tell ya. Day 4 was all of us voting on new and changed rules for leagues and tournaments and lets just say that there were a few people that have been in the ABC and WIBC for many many years and as change is scary some don't wanna change or become one Association. Which IMO I was really upset to see that the Proposal #2 the "Forced Merger" was rejected cause in 5 years we are gonna look back when were all merged and ask ourselves why didn't we do this years ago.
Well in closing of my 1st USBC Convention I would be the first to sign up for next years in KC. By the way if anybody does read this and is not part of a local USBC Association you can still go to this meeting , just won't be able to vote...wanna vote/ join your local USBC and be a new voice next year

2007 USBC National Meeting Nashville, TN (Day 3)
Thursday, March 29, 2007, 11:14 PM MST [General]
I would like to thank any and all who read the blog from last night .....I know it was a bit long but I did write over 2 days. NOW onto today WOW was tonight great. WHY you asked, well thank you for caring. Today I had 4 workshops and there were geared toward what I really do with the youth bowlers. The 1st workshop was titled Rules and this workshop was about any and all changes to USBC rules for this up coming season. Than I moved on to my 1st of 3 workshops that dealt with many different ways to promote and to get new youth bowler and how to try to keep the ones we have. Moving on to the last workshop of the day ....here is where It got really fun. One of the instructors was my old youth bowling friend Diandra Asbaty and boy was it great to see her again. Since she is with Team USA she is in and out of the country like we go in and out of a car. She is truly A HUGE role model for all youth bowlers. I also ran into Brenda Green from Ebonite and it was really great to meet her in person cause we have only talked on the phone until today. Bob "Mr 300" Learn was there as well as many other USBC people that I have only know them by name.
Now to make you all jealous
For dinner we took the General Jackson Showboat Cruse which offers a delicious dinner while cruising down the Cumberland River. This 2 1/2 hour excursion was a unique way to see Nashville and dine on a delicious meal. The dinner cruise features a three-course meal and a Broadway style musical "Sing!". I was on a pure high since I have never been on a boat that size before in my life.
Tomorrow will be the National meeting and thats gonna make for a long day of hearing people talk, as I shouldn't be that way and I really hope that I take out some really great info from it. Well im heading back to the suite now so ill talk to you all again.

2007 USBC National Meeting Nashville, TN (Days 1+2
Wednesday, March 28, 2007, 09:52 PM MST [General]
LOL...I'm alive and doing fine in Nashville. Well I guess I should start this off telling about Travel day. Well it went much better that the flights I took to Reno for the USBC Open Tournament. Well Tuesday started at 6am, I had to go in for 1/2 a day for work. I than had a sedan come and get me "on the resorts dime" and away I went to the airport.....by this time im just praying that the flight will be better than earlier this month. When I get to the airport there were about 5-6 people in line for curb side check in and that brought a smile to my face knowing that my bag will be checked and all I have to do is enjoy the flight. Well I get to the gate and there was a small line for the "A" line so I jumped into it and didn't get a chance to get on here ......so I was at the gate maybe 25-35 min before they boarded and now im on the plane. I really love southwest airlines cause I ALWAYS FLY 1ST CLASS ON SOUTHWEST AIRLINES :)~ well it was a great flight there was about 60 of the 106 seats that were gonna be filled so everyone was in a window and an aisle and the same went for the row I was in and the guy that was sitting in the window seat was a very nice man we talked all the way from Phoenix to El Paso, good for me he was an IT guy and helped me delete files and programs that weren't needed on my laptop and by the way its running great now. So before I go any further I have to tell ya how the flight went, we left Phoenix and landed in El Paso like I said and I had about a 45 min layover but there was no free internet so I just sat at the gate. Well we left El Paso and went up another hr and touched down this time in Irving TX so I sat on the plane for about 25 min as we picked up ppl going to Nashville and than were off again and up just over an hour and here we go this time touching down in Nashville TN. Well Mike got in 20 min after I did so I found his gate and waited. His plane got in and no worries were off to baggage claim than off to the taxi stand. We only had to wait 15 min for a cab since there was a bit of a line but all went well we got to the Resort and checked in around 930 and went too look for food. Since were in Tennessee and there was a cracker barrel we thought we would go there for dinner so we walked about just less of a mile and get there and they just closed at 10 ok well what ya gonna do right ? We went to Applebees and they had just closed at 10 also, so we walked next door to another local place that .....you guessed it closed at 10 pm. They did tell us to go the the bar behind them cause they serve food late, so we told them thank you and bolted over and we found it, it was a BAR & grill and we were just happy to get food and as luck would have it there was a house cover band playing there too. First night in Nashville and were eating in a local bar and grill and seeing a local band....life doesn't get better than last night.
WOW....Thats a lot so I'm gonna just sum up todays daily events with we woke up at 6am (4am for my AZ peeps) and had to be at the Opryland convention center for reregistration before my 1st workshop at 830am. well all my workshops were very informative and the opening session went very well with the key note speaker Brandi Chastain ...the girl who took off her shirt after she won the world cup. Well my last workshop was also with her and I got Gabe from work an autographed copy of the program from conference. After the day was over Mike and I went and had dinner at the Jack Daniels Saloon....WOW thats was great food!!!!!! Well thats all I'm gonna do for know but the hotel does have free wireless internet in the lobby so I'll be on a bit more than I thought I might have been .
Well till tomorrow night !!!!
